Wayne Crandall
1943-2014
(Carlos) Wayne Crandall, 71, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at his residence.
Born in Petitcodiac, he was a son of the late William and Annie (Lane) Crandall. A graduate of Teachers' College, Wayne taught grade 6 for sixteen years before assuming the role of secretary and payroll officer for School District 16. He served as Commissioner of Oaths and was a member of Salisbury Baptist Church where he served many years as church secretary. Wayne loved classical music, travelling, and attending formal ceremonies of all kind. He had a great mind for detail, remembering birthdays, anniversaries and other special dates for nearly everyone he knew.
He is survived and sadly missed by his wife of thirty-nine years Christina (Gray); son Jonathan (Gillian) of Riverview; grandchildren Joel, Callan and Brynn; brother Robert (Sibyl) of Salisbury; close friends Rev. Rolland Hutchinson (Anna) and Keith Lewis and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Jordan; sisters Elaine Steeves and Louise McIntyre.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Tuesday, September 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held Wednesday, September 10 at 3 p.m. at the Salisbury Baptist Church with Rev. Tim MacKinnon and Rev. Chris Hayes officiating. Interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
