1925-2012

Jessie Blakeney

  Jessie Jennie Blakeney, 86, of Grass Home, Riverview and formerly of Petitcodiac passed away at her residence Friday, June 29, 2012.

  Born in Dobsons Corner, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Beatrice (Cole) Lounsbury.  Jessie was a homemaker, a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church and Gullison WMS and also a former Sunday School teacher.  She was a member of the Petitcodiac Women's Institute and a life member of the Petitcodiac Home and School.  Jessie was a volunteer at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home.

  She is survived and missed by her children Carol Robinson of Riverview, Ronald (Pat) of Bristol, England and Gordon (Kelly) of Centreville; daughter in law Rhonda Blakeney of Riverview; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sisters Eleanor Wright-Joyce (Budd) and Donna Gillies (Roy) both of Moncton; brothers Clinton (Edna), Stanley (Jean), Elwyn (Irene) all of Petitcodiac and George (Joan) of Sussex; sister in law Mary Lounsbury of Petitcodiac and many nieces and nephews.  Jessie is predeceased by her husband Dean; son in law Arthur Robinson; sisters Marilyn Gilmore, Edna Graham, Helen Dow and Jennie; brothers Norval and Gary and infant twins. 

  Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Sunday, July 1 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm and from where the funeral will be held in the chapel Monday, July 2 at 2 pm.  Interment at Maplewood Cemetery.

  If desired, donations to the Gullison WMS of Petitcodiac Baptist Church, the Canadian Cancer Society or Bridgehouse Ministries International would be appreciated by the family.
