John Trites

   John Brian Trites, 73, of Monteagle, NB, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, January 1, 2021. Born in Moncton, he was the last surviving son of the late Gordon and Thelma (Sear) Trites.

   John was a retired equipment operator for the Department of Transportation. He loved animals, especially his two canine companions; Katie, who lived to be 15 and went everywhere with John before predeceasing him and going on to rainbow heaven, and Misty, who is 12 now and will be cared for by John’s best friends, Brian and Barb McMackin.

   John, known to many friends as "Jake", loved horse racing, owned horses in the past, and faithfully enjoyed watching his nephews harness racing. He loved golf, and was a long-time member of the Petitcodiac Golf Course. John was involved in many groups where he made life-long friends.

   Survived by his son, David Fougere; one sister, Judy (Trites) McLeod; life partner, Marilyn Trites; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Paul and Peter.

   As per John’s wishes, there will be no visitation and no service. Arrangements in care of The Salisbury Funeral Home (372-4800). If desired, memorials to the S.P.C.A. would be appreciated.
