Kenneth "Ken" Brace

   Kenneth "Ken" Brace Senior, 85, of Intervale, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Born in Chartersville, he was the son of the late Kenneth Malcolm and Mabel (Carter) Brace.

   Sports played a major role in Ken’s life. He was a flagman at seven racetracks, including the River Glade Speedway for 39 years, where he also raced for two years. He was one of the first people to be inducted into the Maritime Motorsport Hall of Fame. He was a goalie when he played hockey and enjoyed playing softball. He was an avid Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs Fan. He was former employee of the NB Liquor Commission for many years. Ken enjoyed spending time at the family cottage, hunting, fishing, spending time with family and taking many a Sunday drive.

   Survived and sadly missed by his wife, Nancy; children, Kenneth (Sandy), Peter (Christine), Judi (Michael), Sharon (Brad), Jocelyn (Melville), and James; step-son, Martin Taylor; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; brothers, Bill (Melanie), Richard; sisters, Shirley Casey, Mary Turner, Wanda Hopkins; several nieces and nephews.

   A special thank you to the nurses and staff on 3600 of Moncton Hospital, and Dr. Nayak for their love and compassion.

   Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106, Salisbury West (372-4800), from where visiting will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks are mandatory, physical distancing will be respected and capacity may be limited. A private family service will be livestreamed to the public with Pastor Rose Marie Holmes officiating. A link to attend the service virtually will appear on our funeral home website on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 1 pm. Interment will be at the First North River Cemetery.

   If desired, memorials to the Maritime Motorsport Hall of Fame or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
