Constance Smith
1931-2020
My obituary, written by myself, has now come to fruition on Friday November 6, 2020 at The Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton, NB.
I was born in Saint John, NB to English parents William and Mercy (Jarrett) Smith and was the eighth of their nine children. I attended school and church in Saint John as well as working in a business career.
Upon marrying my beloved husband, Don Smith, in 1962, I moved to Petitcodiac.
I became involved in community and church activities, serving in various capacities in each, also enjoying the fun activities of the village. I also served as the Spencer Auxiliary Coordinator for the Petitcodiac group for many years.
Besides my husband of 58 years, I am survived by our precious daughters, Shirley AnnMorrison and Carol Lynn Nauss (Kevin); three precious grandchildren, Courtney (Scott Hearn), Michael Morrison, Lydia Nauss; and our dear great-grandson Joe Hearn. All four of them have given Don and I much interest and pride in following them academically and their many sports endeavors through the years.
Besides my husband and family, I must say farewell to my faithful brother, Art (late Gerry) of Mississauga, ON; and to my younger sister, Irene Barrett (late Bernard) of Debert, NS ; as well as wonderful nephews, nieces, and friends.
I was predeceased by sisters, Dot, Ruby, Phyllis, Elizabeth, Madeline; brother, Bud; and my parents.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 10, at the Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac, with Rev. David Woodworth officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, if you wish to attend, please call The Salisbury Funeral Home at (506)372-4800 to register.
If desired, memorials to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
