Wanda Steeves

  It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of our dear Mother Wanda Louise Steeves, 95 of River Glade on Friday, October 2, 2020.

  Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late James and Sarah (Mesheau) Thomas. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Wanda was a former employee of the Jordan LifeCare Centre and retired from the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home as a Nursing Assistant. In her early working years she taught school in Albert, Westmorland and Kings Counties. Wanda was a member of the River Glade Baptist Church, having served as a Church Clerk and was a member of the church choir and WMS. She also belonged to the River Glade Friends and Neighbours Club.

  She is survived and missed by her children Veronica Steeves, Riverview, Gregory Steeves, Cambridge Narrows, Judy Steeves (Roger), Elgin, Wesley Steeves (Marilyn), Wheaton Settlement and Lori MacLeod (Marty), Monteagle; grandchildren Angela, Bruce, Bliss, Melody, Jason, Julie, Kayla, April, Kirk, Keith, Amanda, Hillari-Rose, Martina, Martin, Abigail, Autumn, Becky and John; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Wanda was predeceased by her husband Bliss T. Steeves (1969), step-granddaughter Lisa Steeves, eight sisters and a brother.

  Due to covid restrictions a graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2020, 11:30 a.m. at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Garden of Gethsemane, for family, close friends and caregivers. Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800).

  If desired, donations to the Jordan LifeCare Foundation (Palliative Care Unit) or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
