Margaret MacLeod

1931-2020

Margaret MacLeod Margaret MacLeod

Margaret Louise MacLeod, 88, of Petitcodiac, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 with family by her side. Born in Rexton, she was a daughter of the late John and Bessie (Lawson) Mundle, and wife of the late Herbert MacLeod.

Margaret graduated from business school when she was quite young and was a stenographer for T. Eaton Co. for 14 years. Margaret was widowed at a young age, and worked hard at cleaning various homes throughout Petitcodiac, making her even more particular when it came time for her to have a housekeeper.  You could always find Margaret in her rocking chair enjoying old country music or knitting (though she never could turn a heel). Margaret will be remembered most for her humour, she loved to laugh, something she shared with her sister Gertha. If the two of them are laughing in heaven like they did here on earth, they would likely be kicked out for the commotion.

Margaret is survived and sadly missed by her daughters, Eloise Murphy of Petitcodiac, and Marva MacLeod of BC; sons, Evan (Ada) of Bathurst and Seldon (Christie) of The Glades; grandchildren, Sharon (Steve McLean) and Wyman (Mandy) Murphy, Ryan (Krissy), Travis and Adam (Jenny) MacLeod, Nathan LeGresley (Sandra), Tanya Zimmermann (Jay), Caden and Connor MacLeod; great-grandchildren, Drew and Sydney MacLean, Madison, Austin, Sarah, Ethan, Lily, Haley (Alex), Liam, and Wyatt MacLeod, Chaeli and Ayrton Zimmerman; siblings, Ronald (Alma), George (Arlene), and Arnold (Sheila) Mundle, Dorothy Buckley (the late Roland) and Beulah (Bonar) Morton; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was also predeceased by her son, Goldwin MacLeod and siblings, Eleanor Hartling and Gertha Oxley.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Blanchard for her exceptional care and compassion and also to two very special nurses, Kandace and Britt of 4200 Moncton Hospital. Also a very big thanks to the staff of Fawcett’s Rest Home for their care of Margaret over the last few years.

A Celebration of Margaret's Life will be held at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106, Salisbury West, NB (372-4800) on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Nancy McCormick Sprague officiating.
