Hollie L. Corey

Hollie Leo Corey ,88, of the Jordan Lifecare Center and formerly Canaan passed away peacefully at the Center, Wednesday October 23, 2019.

  Born in Canaan he was a son of the late Charles and Flossie (Kierstead) Corey. Hollie retired from A & M Transport where he had worked as a mechanic and driver. He attended the Havelock Wesleyan Church and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gathering his winters wood but his greatest joy was hunting and time spent at the camps and reminiscing  about the many successful  hunts. He was happy and content at his home in Canaan and with his assistance his mother enjoyed extra years at home.

  Survived by sisters Doris Coleman (late Bliss), Faith Clarke (late Alvin), brother Roy    (late Edith), sisters in law Mary and Edith Corey and by numerous nieces and nephews and their children whom he was a beloved uncle to. Predeceased by sister Myrtle Woodman (James),  brothers Raymond (Mabel), Russell (Erma), Harold and Lawrence.

  Resting at  the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Rt 106 Salisbury on Saturday October 26, 2019 from noon until funeral at 1 p.m. with Rev. Doug Tatton officiating.  Interment at Havelock Wesleyan Cemetery.

 If desired memorials to the Abandoned Cat Rescue, Salisbury or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

The family wish to thank his caregivers both at home and at the Jordan Center who enriched Hollie's quality of life.
