Doris Irene Steeves

  Doris Irene (MacLeod) Steeves, 85, formerly of Petitcodiac, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Jordan LifeCare Centre.

  She was born September 21, 1933 in Harewood and was the daughter of the late Leslie and Bertie (Killam) MacLeod.  She was a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church, a former Sunday School teacher, DVBS teacher and a member of the Helen Hahn WMS Group.  She was a volunteer for several years at the Spencer Nursing Home.  Doris was an avid quilter and knitter and enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, music, traveling and doing her daily Sudoku puzzles.

  Doris is survived by daughters Brenda (Ron) Killam, Kathryn (Charles) McQuinn, sons Steven and Larry (Teddy), daughter-in-law Carla Steeves, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, brother Bruce (Berdine) MacLeod, sisters-in-law Donna MacLeod and Evelyn MacLeod.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins including a very special cousin Annabelle Hunt. She was predeceased by sons Peter (1958) and Dennis (2015), husband Frederick (2001), sisters Hilda MacLeod and Christina Warren and brothers Delbert MacLeod, Sterling MacLeod and daughter-in-law Sylvia Steeves.

  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Petitcodiac Baptist Church on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 2 pm with visitation from 12 noon until the time of service with Rev. David Woodworth officiating. Reception following the service.

  The family would like to thank the wonderful Jordan LifeCare Centre staff who gave Doris exceptional care.

  Arrangements are in the care of the Salisbury Funeral Home (372-4800).
