Jennie Bernice Sleeper
1927-2018
Jennie Bernice Sleeper, 91 of Lewis Mountain passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at her residence.
Born at Dobsons Corner, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Greta (Geldart) Hoar. Jennie was a homemaker, a former member of the Women's Institute and had been a very active member of the Lewis Mountain Baptist Church. She liked to quilt, knit and she had quite a green thumb and loved gardening and her flowers. Anyone who was sick or needed help Jennie made sure they were well taken care of and her cure for anything that ailed you was eggs. She loved to feed people and had the best cooking in North America.
Jennie is survived and sadly missed by her children Helen Breau (Laurie), Steeves Mountain, Harold (Sylvia), Lewis Mountain and Leonard (Joanne), Lewis Mountain; brother-in-law Tom McNeil; sisters-in-law Kay Hoar and Marg Hoar; grandchildren Nicholas (Jill), Michael (Claire), Melissa, Susanne, Bradley (Holly), Vanessa and Logan (Jaclyn); great grandchildren Alica, Morgan, Amelia, Charlotte and Leo and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Bradley; brothers Robert, infant Willard, Hughie, Allison and Frank and sister Eleanor.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800) visiting will be from 12 noon until the time of service on Sunday, October 28 at 1 pm with Rev. Vincent Burgess officiating. The family invites everyone to dress plaid shirt casual. Interment at Lewis Mountain Cemetery.
