Deborah Ann Leaman

1951-2018

Deborah Ann Leaman

Debby passed away surrounded by her family on October 10th 2018 at the Moncton Hospital. Born on 16 March 1951 in Moncton, daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret Harrison of Elgin.

Living her life in Elgin NB, she was an active member of the community as a Sunday school teacher at the First Elgin United Baptist Church, a Girl Guide leader and Post Master.

An avid cook many family and friends will miss her amazing meals and hot and spicy nights. She was well read, enjoyed learning about new things, loved music and singing and rocked out at many concerts.

An affinity to create and explore, if she was not in the green house growing vegetables and flowers or working on her sewing machine making many beautiful garments she was traveling.  As a grandmother of six, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren by the pool or at the pollett river swimming, making cookies and elaborate birthday cakes for them as well as spoiling them on shopping sprees.

Debby is survived by sisters; shopping partner Erla Steeves (Rick), quilting confidant Dolores Murray (John), gardening guru Tonya Harrison and several nieces and nephews.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 50 years LeeRoy Leaman; children, Tressa (Ben),  Nathan (Kara), Sarah (Gerv), Meghan (Brad); Grandchildren, Maggie, Medley, Ava, Iris, Mason and Harrison.

Grateful thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses and health care support staff of the Moncton hospital for their over the top love and care given to Debby.

Thank you as well to the devoted Palliative Care unit and volunteers who were always there, for all of us.

Lastly, we will never forget the help, devotion and respect given us by our many relatives, friends and neighbours for their compassion.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Saturday October 20th at the Elgin Community Centre, 2 Gowland Mtn Rd from noon till 4.

In lieu of flowers Mom would love for donations to be directed to Camp Whisong Elgin via the Girl Guides of Canada.

Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral Home & Crematorium (372-4800).
