Evelyn Edith Ogilvie

  With heavy hearts the family of Evelyn Edith Ogilvie of Petitcodiac announce her passing at the Moncton Hospital on September 9, 2018 at the age of 91.

  Born November 5, 1926 in Newport, England to John and Edith (Wilcox) Hawkins, she immigrated to Canada in April, 1930 and settled in Intervale with her parents and brothers Jack and Stan. Evelyn married Fleming Ogilvie on May 10, 1947 and lived in Petitcodiac.

  She is survived and sadly missed by her four children, sons Gordon (Wendy), Moncton and David (Darlene), Petitcodiac; daughters Brenda Flanders (David), Fawcett Hill and Bev Ogilvie (Karen), Vancouver; sister-in-law Lana Douglas (Gordon), Moncton and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.  Her pride and joy were her eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husband Fleming (2002); infant sister Grace and brothers Ted, Stan and Jack.

  Known for her loving heart, her greatest joys were family gatherings, the outdoors, playing cards, cooking, knitting, drives in the country and watching her family play sports.

  A woman of faith, she belonged to many community groups such as the Anglican Church Ladies Auxiliary, Petitcodiac Seniors and a member of the Petitcodiac Legion Branch #41 for thirty years.

  She will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who knew her. 

  Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800) visiting will be Wednesday, September 12 from 6 to 8 pm with a legion service at 5:45 pm. The funeral will be held Thursday, September 13 at 11 am with Rev. Chris Hayes officiating. Interment to follow at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

  In lieu of flowers, donations to Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation, the  Anglican Parish of Petitcodiac, Salisbury and Havelock or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
