Stephen 'Steve' Douglas Taylor

1970-2018

Stephen 'Steve' Douglas Taylor

The passing of Stephen "Steve" Douglas Taylor, 48, of Petitcodiac, NB occurred on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Moncton City Hospital, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Newfoundland to Gus Taylor and the late Doris Taylor, he is "the best husband" to his wife Jeannine Taylor.

Steve was a truck driver for Cement Cartage (LaFarge) and was Unifor Local 4500A Union President. Listening to newfie music would often bring out his inner "newfie ninja". Known as Gwen to his close family, he loved watching his grandchildren play hockey, and talking on the phone. Steve and Jennie always made each others daily commute more enjoyable as phone buddies. He enjoyed camping and fishing, especially if there was rum to drink. He liked taking his dogs for walks, reading true stories, and playing facebook games.

In addition to his wife, Steve will be greatly missed by his daughters, Jennie Rouse (Angus), Julie Barker (Robert); grandchildren, Jazlynn, Jared, Keenan, Lennox; mother-in-law whom he was very close with, Joan McMackin; siblings, Heber, Gus Jr., Diane (Gary), David (Denise); many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in-law; his special four-legged friends, Tig and the "not-that-bad" Sous; and his campground family.

Besides his mother, Steve was also predeceased by his brother Danny; father-in-law, Emory McMackin; sister-in-law, Gail; and niece, Wandaleigh.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106, Salisbury (506-372-4800) on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 7 - 9 pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac, on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 2 pm with Pastor Paul Leger officiating.

If desired, memorials to Cystic Fibrosis would be appreciated by the family.
