Donald Linkletter

1949-2018

Donald Linkletter

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Eugene Linkletter, 68 of Elgin who passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 with his wife by his side, at the Moncton Hospital.

He had worked for Flecto Coating's Ltd. in Richmond, BC and was retired from Dairytown, NB.  He worked in blueberry fields, in his woodlot with Anna by his side and helped out in the Maple Sugar woods. Donald loved camping with his family, special visits with his mother, family get togethers of which he was the "tease" of the party, golfing with friends at Dairy Town in Sussex, visiting and playing cards with Larry and Susan, fishing, horseshoes - even winning a few times, cutting his wood for winter, hunting in his early years and tinkering with his machines. He also loved the Montreal Canadiens, but Anna liked the Maple Leafs.

Donald is survived and sadly missed by his mother Phyllis Linkletter of the Jordan LifeCare Centre; his wife of 42 years (Anna Garland); sons Martin (Susan) and David ( Cassandra); beloved granddaughter Lisa, all from Moncton; sisters Linda Babcock (Robert) of Petitcodiac and Nancy Thorne (Kerry) of Grand Lake; brothers Larry (Susan) of Woodstock and Jeff (Susan) of Salisbury and several brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Parker Linkletter Jr. (2001), nephew Ryan Babcock.

Resting at Armstrong's Funeral Chapel, 33 Russell Street (756-3361) visiting is Wednesday, August 15 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The service will be held at the Salisbury Funeral Home on Thursday, August 16 at 11 am with Pastor James Hammond officiating. Interment at New Elgin Cemetery.

Donations to the New Elgin Cemetery or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
