David William Blakney
1944-2018
David William Blakney, 73, of Intervale passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born on the Blakney Road, he was the son of the late Murray and Ruth (Goddard) Blakney. David was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6, loved playing washer toss and competing in the tournaments, hunting and spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his girlfriend Murielle Melanson, brother Richard Blakney; grandson Kyle Blakney; Deborah's daughter, Melissa Douthwright; friends Brent (Lynn) Bleakney, Brian (Karen) Henderson, Gerry (Debbie) Eryanton, Bernice Chiasson (Richard LeBlanc) and Sandra Welner. Predeceased by common-law spouse Deborah Douthwright and his son Andrew Blakney.
There is no visitation or service by personal request. Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral Home and Crematorium (372-4800).
Interment at First North River Cemetery.
