Clinton Goddard

1929-2018

Clinton Goddard

Clinton Delbert Goddard, 89 of Intervale went home to be with his Lord Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Moncton Hospital with family by his side.

Born on Goddard Road, he was the son of the late Harold and Mabel (Babe) (Campbell) Goddard.

Clinton was a member of the First North River Baptist Church, the former church choir and served on the board of trustees for many years. He worked at many jobs in his lifetime. As a young man he headed to Waltham, Massachusetts to work with his Uncle Roy Goddard laying flooring, but after becoming homesick and came back home to Canada. He worked at the Cement Plant in Havelock for a time, the T. Eaton Company on the shipping floor for many years until it closed, and after that he became custodian for School District 16 at the Petitcodiac Rural Elementary School and the Havelock Junior High School until retirement in 1994. Even while working full time jobs Clinton also farmed with his brother Carl raising beef cattle and pigs. He enjoyed attending music jams, he built outdoor furniture from alder bushes and miniature furniture from clothespins. Clinton liked to tell stories and reminisce about the past but most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.

Clinton is missed dearly by his children Carla Perry (John), River Glade, Brian (Susan), Cold Lake, AB, Lynn Bleakney (Brent), Fawcett Hill, Lisa Moss (Dennis), Killams Mills and Nancy Goddard, Rogersville; twelve grandchildren Aimee Moss (Trent), Deborah White (Kelly), Amanda Davies, Jennifer White (Jason), Christin Bleakney, Rachel Howatt (Charles), Jessica Devries (Sam), Megan Bennett (Tyson), Matthew Cormier (Alicia Tower), Melissa Cormier (Dave MacSwain), Brittany Belyea and Jason Belyea; twenty-six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; the mother of his children Jean Thorne; sister-in-law Ann Goddard; brothers-in-law Herbert Prance (Joanne) and Donald Prance (Maria) and many nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Donald and Carl; granddaughter Miranda Julien and infant grandsons Isaac and Simon.
