Richard Heinrich Kay
1933-2018
Richard Heinrich Kay, 85, of Hillgrove, NB passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home in Moncton, NB.
Born in Germany he was the son of the late Rudolph and Frida (Eger) Kay, and loving husband to the late Heike Kay (Schwab). A very dedicated and strong family man and farmer, Richard enjoyed woodworking and was very proud of the time he spent as a volunteer firefighter in Germany. Richard especially loved gathering with friends and family, and always took every opportunity to enjoy a beer, schnapps and laughter.
Richard will be sadly missed by his daughters Berit Kay of The Glades, NB, Bettina Kay of Hillgrove, NB, son Andreas Kay of River Glade, NB, grandchildren Bradley Kay, Mathias and Martin Giermindle, great-grandchildren Kurt, Joli and Atticus Giermindle.
In addition to his parents and spouse, Richard was predeceased by his brother, William (Willy).
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home (372-4800) from where an informal memorial gathering will take place on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 6 - 8:30 pm.
If desired, memorials to Friends of the Moncton Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
