Howard "Bud"  Tait

  Howard "Bud" Eugene Tait ,86, of Upper Coverdale passed away Saturday evening, November 25, 2017 at home.

  Born in Moncton he was a son of the late Albert and Edna (Blakeny) Tait. In his younger years Bud was involved locally with sports and was a member of the Salisbury Flyers Baseball Team. For many years he worked as the caretaker for the Salisbury Lions outdoor rink and later worked at the Petitcodiac Arena. Throughout that time he coached many hockey teams with one of his proudest moments being when Salisbury native Stacey Wilson Captained the Women's Olympic Hockey Team as they won Silver in the 1998 games, as he had coached her in her early years on the outdoor rink. He was a former member of the Salisbury Lions Club and enjoyed gathering with friends to play country music, travelling back country roads especially to a fishing hole and going to Moncton Wildcat games.

   Survived and sadly missed by his daughter Judy with whom he lived, son Grant and his wife Cheryl of Colpitts Settlement, cherished grandchildren Tammy, Travis, Terri Lynn, Nick; and great grandchildren Nathan, Hannah, Elliot, Nora; and several nieces and nephews.  Bud was predeceased by wife Audrey; sisters Ruby Trites, Betty Jameson and brother Walter.

   Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Rt 106 Salisbury (372-4800) with visiting Tuesday November 28 from 7-9 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at the Five Points Cemetery.
