Ernest Seely
1931-2017
Charles Ernest Seely, 86, of Salisbury formerly of Havelock passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Havelock to the late Charles and Bernice (Keith) Seely. Ernest was a retired equipment operator for J.D. Irving and previously he worked for Blois Corey and Deadriver Lumber Co.. A member of the Parish of Salisbury and Havelock Anglican Church of Canada, he served as Warden for the former Saint Paul's Church in Havelock and as Parish Warden. For many years he faithfully served as caretaker of St. Paul's Church, Hall & the Cenotaph in Havelock. Ernest was a member of the H. Hussars Reserve in Sussex and member of the former Orange Lodge in Havelock. He enjoyed time spent in his woodlot and family gatherings.
Ernest is survived by wife of 64 years Myra (Henry), daughters; Betty Lou Gautreau (late Fred) of Havelock, Cheryl N. Broad (Donald) of Moose Mountain, son William Seely of Havelock, son-in-law Terrance Steeves of Elgin, sister Hazel Clark (late Arthur) of Springhill, half brothers; George Seely (Diane) of Fredericton, Cuthbert Seely (Wanda) of Amherst, half sister Mona Mosher (Everett) of Sackville, 12 grandchildren, 8 great greandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ernest was predeceased by his daughter Shirley Steeves, infant son Gary and infant daughter and his step-mother Ida Seely.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home 3350 Rte 106 (372-4800), with visitation Monday, October 16th from 6-8pm and Funeral Service Tuesday at 11:00am in the chapel offciated by Rev. Canon Albert Snelgrove & Rev. Chris Hayes. Interment at the Loyalist Cemtery in Havelock.
Memorials made to the Loyalist Cemetery or a charity of the donors choosing would be appreciated by the family.
