Edith McCully

1926-2017

 

  Edith Maude McCully, 91, of Intervale passed away Friday October 13, 2017 at the Moncton Hospital.                                                                                                                   

  Born in Cornhill she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Leta (Dunfield) Marr. In her early working years she taught school. Working together with her late husband Dana they operated a dairy farm. For over 40 years Edith was a local Avon Representative, where many of her customers became close friends. She was a member of First North River Baptist Church.  She was a past member of the W.M.S., and previously served on several committees of the church. Also a past member of the Fawcett Hill -Intervale Woman's Institute . Edith was a longtime 4 H leader, teaching local young girls the art of sewing. She took great pride tending her garden,  making numerous bottles of pickles and jellies which she generouly shared with family and friends.

  Survived and sadly missed by her children, Larry ( Karen) and Margie Douthwright (Rae) of Intervale, Bonny Price (Blaine) of Elgin, and chosen daughter Brenda Smith of Moncton; cherished grandchildren Danny Goddard (Krystal), Jennifer Price, Graham Price, Katie Douthwright, Hali Douthwright, Charlotte McCully, Sarah McCully and by six great grandchildren; Emma, Abby, Lucas, Connor, Tyler, and Brittney, a sister in law Alberta Marr of Magnetic Hill as well as several nieces and nephews. The last surviving member of her immediate family.  Besides her husband Dana (2009) she was predeceased by sister Elsie Steeves and brothers Melburne, Hilyard and Glendon Marr.

   Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home,  3350 Rt. 106 Salisbury (372-4800) with visiting Sunday October 15, 6-8 p.m. and from where the funeral will be Monday October 16 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kendall McRae and Rev. Wayne Haggerman officiating. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac

   If desired memorials to the Petitcodiac Boys and Girls Club or First North River Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
