Elmer "Jeff" Blakney
Elmer "Jeff" Blakney, 85, of Rothesay passed away August 28, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Petitcodiac he was a son of the late Eugene and Mildred (Steeves) Bleakney. A Millright he worked for many years on Industrial Sites in the greater Saint John area as a founding member of the Millrights Local 2262. He enjoyed Nascar, hunting gathering with family and friends and country music.
Survived and sadly missed by his daughters Maureen Brenda of Ontario, Shelly Anne Silvestri (Sandro) of Ontario, Shari-Lee Bleakney (Mike) of Rothesay, Sherry Cooper (Ron) of Saint John, Patty Earle (Hudson) of Ontario; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a great great grandson. Survived also by a sister Shirley Hopkins of Ontario, brothers and sisters in law and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Pauline , son Jeffrey Allen, sisters Lillian Sherwood, Doris McKetsy, Catherine Newton; brothers Charles, Gerald, Royden, Emery, Dana and Austin.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Salisbury Funeral Home 3350 Route 106 Salisbury (372-4800), Monday September 4 from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Evans Blakney officiating. Interment at the First North River Cemetery.
Memorials to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
