Myra Shaffer

 

  It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Myra Alisha Shaffer of Churchill, NB on  March 29, 2017 at Moncton City Hospital with her loving family by her side.

  Born September 3, 1927 on Harrison Mountain, NB, she was a daughter of the late Nathan and Minnie (Marshall) Harrison.

  For over 55 years, Myra was the devoted and loving wife of the late Clarence Shaffer.  She was a homemaker who cherished her family dearly and greatly enjoyed life on their hobby farm -  fully involved in the many aspects of farming, gardening, preserving, and maple sugar production.  She was a member of the Churchill United Church and filled the role of secretary for over 25 years.     

  She is survived and sadly missed by her children; Calvin (Lillian) of Churchill, Brenda (Ted) Martin of Elgin, Nadine (David) Brown of Petitcodiac, and Gregory (Tammy) of Church’s Corner; grand-children Derrick (Nadine) Shaffer, Aaron (Lynn) Shaffer, Cindy Shaffer(Leo Ferriera), Andrew Brown(Sharon), Corrie Brown, Stacy (Jason) Coleman, Colby Shaffer and Travis Shaffer(Bailey); great grand-children Riley, Connor, Maxime, Manon, Emily and Madelyn; sister Kathleen Bannister; sister-in-law Marion Harrison,  special cousin Alma Steeves, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brothers Alfred  and Edwin Harrison; sisters Ella Nowlan, Mildred Colpitts and Amy Colpitts; step-father George Babcock and infant half sister Edith Patricia Babcock. 

  Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Saturday, April 1 from 5 to 8 pm and from where the funeral will be held Sunday, April 2 at 2 pm with Rev. Stephen Brown officiating.  Interment at Churchill United Church Cemetery at a later date.

  Memorials, if desired, to Harrison Cemetery Fund or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
