Clinton Lounsbury

1927-2017

Clinton Lounsbury

Clinton Louis Lounsbury, 89, of Petitcodiac went to be with His Lord and Saviour on February 22, 2017. Clinton was born to the late Walter and Beatrice (Cole) Lounsbury in Dobson Corner on June 8, 1927.

As his wife Edna says, he had fulfilled the four dreams of his life. First, he wanted to meet the girl, Edna Marie, with the long, beautiful hair. They married on September 11, 1948. Clinton was known then as the Blond Farmer by Edna’s school chums. Second, he wanted to become a Christian and throughout the next years he attended evangelical meetings and accepted Jesus. Thirdly, he wanted to be a dairy farmer, in which he fulfilled by owning three small farms known as the Chet Place, the Don Place, and the Heber Place. Lastly, he wanted to have twins, Judy and John, like the Gillan family farm radio program. They had a Judy who left them far too soon in 1990.

Clinton and three of his brothers were fox farmers for a number of years. In later years he worked for Opal Inc. in Havelock. Clinton loved to travel with friends and family, across Canada, the United States, and as far as England and Scotland. Clinton and Edna belonged to Citation Indian where they went on many adventures. They also attended many family camps at Camp Wildwood. Clinton was a member and honorary deacon of First North River Baptist Church. He had been President and director of Royal Co-op, Sub-Federation Agriculture Organization, and the Royal Credit Union. He enjoyed reading, playing card games like Rook, Phase 10 and Queens. Clinton also enjoyed going to Heather and Garth’s dairy farm to help with the haying.
