David Melvin
1948-2016
David Lee Melvin ,68, of Truro passed away Monday October 10, 2016 in Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Havelock he was a son of the late Gerald and Myrtle (Killam) Melvin. In his early working years he helped his father at the Havelock Cheese Factory and he retired after many years as a mill worker. He was an avid cribbage and card player.
Survived and sadly missed by his wife Margaret (Peggy); his children Mary Melvin of Oromocto, Anne Melvin (Derek) of Calgary, Melissa Melvin of Truro, his step son Cory of Truro; brothers Wayne of the Glades, Byron and Morgan of Havelock, Gerald (Perla) of Toronto, Keith (Wanda) of Petitcodiac; sisters Alice Jones (Gary) of Petitcodiac, Betty Melvin of Riverview, Julia Steeves (Greg) and Cora Melvin (Don) all of Petitcodiac. Survived also by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by an infant sister Mary Ellen.
A Graveside service will be held Saturday October 15 at 2 p.m. at the Greenhill Cemetery, Havelock.
