Evelyn  Colpitts

Evelyn Cora Colpitts, 91, of the Jordan LifeCare Centre and formally of Salisbury, passed away at the Moncton Hospital Friday, July 29, 2016.

  Born July 22, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Hillard and Margaret (Coates) Branscombe. Evelyn was a homemaker, a member of the Wheaton Settlement Baptist Church and attended U.C.W. She bowled with the Salisbury Seniors and enjoyed going to Monday Morning Merry Makers. Evelyn also enjoyed knitting and loved being with her family.

  Survived by her sons Charles (Nadine), and Richard (Sharon) of Wheaton Settlement; step-children Barbara (Jim) Neill of Hampton, Bruce (Anna Marie) Colpitts and Benson (Pamela) Colpitts of Fredericton, Beverly (Yvon) Bernard of Salisbury; grandchildren Angela Ramage, Lyndon Crossman, Heather Crossman, Aaron Crossman, Jennie Ward, Debbie McLaine, and Tracy Quinn-Desroches; 13 great grandchildren; brothers Everett (Grace) Branscombe and Ivan (Debbie) Branscombe; sisters Pauline Murray, Luetta (Gerry) Smith, Grace Branscombe, Margaret Vantil, and Lottie (Arnold) Forsythe and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her first husband Gurney Crossman (1986), and second husband Gordon (Doc) Colpitts (2016); daughter Bernice Hull (2013) and grandson Rae Charles Crossman.

  Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Monday, August 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held Tuesday, August 2 at 11 am from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Lloyd O'Blenes and Rev. Sim Rushton officiating. Interment at Birch Hill Cemetery.
