Roelie Bos

1929-2016

Roelie Bos

Roelie Bos, 87, of The Jordan Life Care Center, and formally of Steeves Mountain, passed away July 27, 2016.

Born in Holland, Roelie was forever grateful for coming to Canada to marry the love of her life, John. She had the biggest heart, opening her house to foster children and being involved in charity work and the Second North River Women's Institute for many years. She received the Governor General Award for her work in the community. Roelie was best known for good cooking, especially her meatballs, homemade soup, and buns, and her generosity, charity, and kindness. She loved playing cards, bowling, travel, gardening, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She had a large collection of bells and spoons she picked up on her travels.  Roelie was an avid church goer, participating in many church activities. Roelie spent many hours reading from her favourite magazines including Women's World, Our Canada, and Our Daily Bread and her favourite TV shows were Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Dragon's Den. When visiting Roelie, she always wanted you to sign her diary before you left.

She is survived and sadly missed by her sons Joe Bos (April Dupuis) of Monteagle, Paul Bos (Patty) of Moncton; daughters Rosemary Goddard (Kevin) of Second North River, Jocelyn Gould (Raymond) of Memramcook; foster son Reg Cormier (Bev) of B.C.; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and family in Holland. Predeceased by husband John.

There is no visitation. Funeral will be held at St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, Friday, July 29 at 1pm with Father Phil Mulligan officiating. Interment at Leaman Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800).
